Some people are brought into your life and capture your heart as though they are blood related. "Aunt" Pat, "Uncle" Phil (and the kids) are as close to my heart as any "real" family member could be. It certainly is a lonlier place on Earth without them, but we can find comfort in knowing they are together forever, watching an eternity of sunsets. and pain free!

The Mulligans were always a big part of Kula and always ready and willing to give a simile. They both have been blessed with a loving Daughter that was able to cradle them in health, through health and help them to bravely say goodbye. The last time I say Mrs. Mulligan as frail as she was she was with a big smile and hug as always. My thoughts, love are with all and I will keep my memory of them alive.

Grandma Pat was such a calm in a world of ever changing emotions. She always seemed strong even when her body was weak and she always had a smile ready to share. She was a special part of our Maui Ohana and she will be missed. We will do our best to keep her smile warm in our hearts.

A good guy. Very sharp and very funny. He served his country well as a submariner and his community as a businessman. A good life that ended too soon.

Dad wanted to give mom a day to herself so he thought he’d take the kids out to a movie. He loaded us up along with the 5 Frampton kids and Mr. Frampton, and away we went. We were going to see the sci-fi epic “Flash Gordon”, a movie about the comic book hero of my dad’s youth. I was about 13 years old so this would make Patrick 7 or 8, with the Frampton kids being between us in age. We got to the theater, got our popcorn and candy, got to our seats and waited. The curtain opened, the lights dimmed, and the blackness of outer space was on the screen when all of a sudden a space ship entered from the right of the screen. But, wait a minute! The ship was in the shape of male genitalia! It floated toward a second ship in the shape of a female genitalia. The next scene was inside both ships with the female crew wearing almost nothing and the male crew wearing Speedos. My eyes were wide open and I was going, “OH YEAH DAD!” Both dad and Mr. Frampton’s mouths were wide open. Patrick, at 7 years of age, was going, “WHATS THAT? WHATS THAT?” The Frampton girls were in shock. In fact, I told Dawn this story just the other day and she doesn't remember it so she was so traumatized she has blocked it from her memory. We were able to watch this for about 10 minutes until dad came to his senses and went up to tell the operator that they were playing the wrong movie. The operator told him it was “FLESH GORDON” not “Flash Gordon.” We were hurried out of the theater and told not to say anything to anyone about this. Of course we couldn't let that happen. Needless to say dad wasn’t allowed to take us to the movies ever again.
